Eric Deutsch, MD, PhD, is Full Professor of Radiation Oncology at Paris-Saclay University, Director of the Inserm UMR1030 “Molecular Radiotherapy and Innovative Therapeutics” research unit, and Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Gustave Roussy Cancer Campus, Villejuif, France.
Under his leadership, Prof. Deutsch oversees a team of more than 150 clinicians, researchers, and support staff, integrating clinical excellence with cutting-edge translational research and early-phase clinical trials. He has developed a novel research axis focused on the personalization of radiotherapy and immunotherapy through artificial intelligence driven approaches, in collaboration with TPC and CentraleSupélec.
As principal investigator, he has led several first-in-human clinical trials evaluating innovative therapeutic agents, including immunomodulatory compounds combined with radiotherapy. As a board member of the Gustave Roussy Technology Transfer Office, he is also experienced in research valorization, technology transfer, and contractual strategy.
Prof. Deutsch has (co-)authored more than 300 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, accumulating over 15,000 citations and a Google Scholar H-index of 57. His research focuses on mechanisms of cell death, HPV-related tumors, and tumor–stroma interactions, with a strong emphasis on tumor immunology.
