Akshay Nanduri is a serial entrepreneur dedicated to the application of novel technologies to solve the most pressing problems in oncology. Akshay is CEO and co-founder at Onc.AI, a company revolutionizing cancer treatment decision-making using Deep Learning and computer vision applied to diagnostic imaging scans. Onc.AI has raised $30M in venture-capital financing from top investment firms including the Blue Venture Fund (Blue Cross Blue Shield Ventures) and the investment-arm of global pharma player, GSK (Action Potential Venture Capital). Prior to Onc.AI, Akshay co-founded RefleXion Medical, a developer of an FDA-cleared breakthrough cancer treatment machine, and served as the company’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. Akshay was responsible for day-to-day operations and he played an integral role in raising over $160M in equity financing from premier healthcare investors, including; TPG Growth, Sofinnova Partners, Venrock, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. Prior to RefleXion, Akshay was one of the first employees and Director of Software Development at SlipStream Data, a venture-backed startup acquired by BlackBerry in 2006. Akshay received a BASc and MASc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He also received his MBA in Entrereneurship and Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Outside of work, Akshay enjoys spending time with his family in the SF Bay area, is an avid squash player and enjoys playing chess and classical piano.
